For over 30 years, Dr. Jennifer Walken, has worked with most
all ages from preschool children to senior citizens in various
settings and has been in practice in the Raleigh, NC area since
1978. Being a parent of two, having been through the adoption process,
having a child with special needs, and dealing with a blended
family, she brings first-hand knowledge
and life experience to understanding real life issues and
resulting impacts on marital and
family relationships. Personally practicing as a
Christian, Jennifer respects and accepts working with people
from all faiths and beliefs. Her experience and knowledge working with
individuals, couples and families makes her a real asset to the
community.
Jennifer received her B.A. degree in Elementary Education from
Columbia College, her M.S. degree in Counseling and Child
Development and Family Relations from the University of
Tennessee, and her Ed. D. degree in Counseling Psychology from
Duke University. Her doctoral internship involved work with
children, adults, and families. She is a NC Licensed Marriage
and Family
Therapist (License #83) and NC Licensed Psychologist
– Health Services Provider (License #368).
